On the evening of June 10th, the announcement of the new partnership between Mesarya Education House, a subsidiary of Mesarya Technical University, and NCUK was made at a magnificent reception in the Bedesten, Nicosia.
Founded in 1987, by the leading universities in Northern England, the Northern Consortium UK is a charitable organization made up of 16 universities in the UK, and many universities across the world, with the aim of increasing the access by international students to education in their institutions.
With Mesarya Education House in Northern Cyprus, this new partnership will increase opportunities for graduates from TRNC, and elsewhere, to continue their educations at more than 60 prestigious universities.
NCUK’s programmes are accredited by NARIC, the world-renowned prestigious accreditation and evaluation body, and will begin to offer training in the TRNC through Mesarya Education House on 14 October 2019.
This programme is an educational transfer programme and is recognized by 60 universities in the UK, Ireland, Australia, the USA and Europe, including 25 universities which rank among the top 200 universities in the world.
The NCUK programme is able to offer an equivalent level of education and qualifications in 9 months, and is different from a GCE A-Level programme, which requires a two-years to complete. Once finished, students can continue their educations in the first year courses of their tertiary education at any of the 60 universities open to them.
Students who complete Mersarya’s NCUK programme are guaranteed admission to at least one of the 16 NCUK member universities in the UK, or to one of the partner universities in USA and Australia.
In addition, funding provided by NCUK allows academics in their home countries to complete their Masters & PhD degrees at NCUK member universities, and to acquire new skills and contacts that will be of great help when they return to their homelands.
According to many respected academics around the world, the NCUK programme is an advantageous way for students to pursue their studies at prestigious universities in the United States, the UK and Australia, as well as being economical and time-saving. It ensures that students can develop consistently and achieve international integration. It has been stated that the programme that provides the best chances for youth to enter the highest levels of academic attainment.
